BENGKULU – Persatuan Umat Budha Indonesia (Permabudhi) Provinsi Bengkulu resmi dilantik oleh Gubernur Bengkulu Rohidin Mersyah, di Balai Raya Semarak Bengkulu, Sabtu (20/4/2019).
Dikatakan Gubernur Bengkulu Rohidin Mersyah saat ditemui awak media, adanya Permabudhi diharapkan mampu mendukung pembangunan Provinsi Bengkulu.
“Saya kira tidak perlu ada perasaan minoritas, tetapi bagaimana bersama masyarakat beragama lainnya mendukung pembangunan Provinsi Bengkulu karena pada dasarnya Indonesia ditakdirkan beragam termasuk dalam hal keberagaman agama,” ujar Rohidin Mersyah.
Sementara itu, Ketua Permabudhi, Sofian Cahya periode 2019-2023 mengatakan bahwa Permabudhi siap mempersatukan Umat Buddha khususnya di Provinsi Bengkulu untuk ikut serta dalam program pemerintah.
“Umat Buddha mempunyai kesempatan untuk terlibat dalam kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara yang bertanggung jawab dengan memilih pemimpin yang terbaik serta kita dukung Program Pemerintah nantinya,” ujarnya
Permabudhi, lanjut Sofian, merupakan wadah pemersatu dari semua Majelis Agama Buddha yang ada di Provinsi Bengkulu.
“Dengan adanya organisasi ini umat Buddha diharapkan semakin kokoh, kuat, rukun dan dama. Disamping itu Permabudhi akan berperan serta menanamkan nilai-nilai toleransi antar umat Beragama di Indonesia sehingga terbina kerukunan hidup diantara umat beragama di Provinsi Bengkulu,” pungkasnya.
