“Bentuk Keprihatinan Terbunuhnya Demas Laira Dan Maraknya Kriminalisasi Terhadap Insan Pers”

Bandar Lampung, Sentralnews.com-Pengurus Setwil Forum Pers Independent Indonesia (FPII) Lampung mengadakan kegiatan menyalakan seribu lilin, kegiatan tersebut diikuti beberapa pengurus dan anggota Kordinator Wilayah (Korwil) FPII Kabupaten/Kota yang ada di Provinsi Lampung, kegiatan tersebut dilaksanakan di Tugu Adipura Bandar Lampung. Sabtu malam (29/08/2020).

Kegiatan menyalakan seribu lilin yang dilakukan oleh FPII Lampung, merupakan sebagai bentuk keprihatinan atas terbunuhnya seorang jurnalis di Mamuju Sulawesi Barat yang bernama Demas Laira.

Pada acara tersebut, FPII Lampung secara tegas juga meminta kepada penegak hukum dalam hal ini pihak POLRI, agar segera dapat melakukan pengungkapan dan penangkapan pelaku pembunuhan Demas Laira.

Ditempat yang sama, Aminudin selaku Ketua Setwil FPII Lampung mengatakan bahwa kejadian yang menimpa Demas Laera adalah suatu bentuk bahwa saat ini Indonesia dalam keadaan darurat dalam kebebasan pers.

Aminudin juga menambahkan, sebagai fungsi kontrol sosial dan sesuai dengan UU Pers No. 40 Tahun 1999, seharusnya semua pihak dapat memahami apa yang telah menjadi tugas seorang jurnalistik dengan tidak melakukan kriminalisasi dan intimidasi terhadap jurnalis.

Ditambahkan olehnya Forum Pers Independent Indonesia akan selalu konsisten membela jurnalis tanpa membeda – bedakan organisasi pers dan media nya.

“Dengan adanya kejadian pembunuhan terhadap saudara kita Demas Laira, kita dan rekan-rekan yang ada di Forum Pers Independent Indonesia meminta agar penegak hukum dapat segera melakukan penangkapan terhadap pelaku”. Ujar Aminudin.

Aminudin mengaprisiasi kekompakan seluruh pengurus dan anggota Korwil FPII dari kabupaten kota yang sudah ikut hadir dan mengucapkan terima kasih atas kerjasama semua pihak, sehingga kegiatan penyalaan seribu lilin dapat berjalan dengan aman dan lancar.
