The upcoming launch of NASA’s Artemis I is a history-in-the-making moment. Kennedy Space Center is excited to be the launch site of such an incredible mission. Leading up to liftoff, currently scheduled for Monday, August 29, 2022, at 8:33 AM, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex invites you to learn about Artemis I from the experts and have a lot of family-friendly fun along the way.
As we countdown to Artemis I, here is what you can experience at the visitor complex:
Beginning Now:
See Artemis I on the Launch Pad
See Artemis I on the launch pad across Banana Creek. While visiting the Apollo/Saturn V Center, accessible via the Kennedy Space Center Bus Tour, take a step out back and look across the lawn over Banana Creek. You can see the massive Space Launch System (SLS) rocket that will send Artemis I beyond Earth sitting on pad 39B.
Artemis Mission Manual Scavenger Hunt
Now through August 29, explore the visitor complex and complete the Artemis Mission Manual Scavenger Hunt. Pick up a booklet in information or the Space Shop. Answer the questions in your booklet with answers found at six Artemis education stations, and then return to Information or the Space Shop before you leave for a completion prize.
